Hello everyone, I think that my embothrium is dying i think its quite an age, it is about thirty feet high and had a great display of flowers last year but a very poor showing this year. there has been a serious de-foliation about 85% of the leaves have dropped. The tree is well sheltered by mature rhodos and eucryphias but I think its age has got the better of it it's over a 100years perhaps more. It might sound obvious that it has reached it's maturity but i want to be sure that its dead before i go chopping her down as it's in a prominent position on the main drive, I have heard that they can recover from defoliation. Thanks Darren

Have a certified arborist look at it. Interesting that it is that old.
