I've been trying to ID this lily for a couple of years. I can't seem to find it in any wildflower books so I believe it is a garden escape. It is along a stream in the flood plain and bottom land woods (sycamore, liquidambar, yellow poplar, etc). It could have been carried to its location by frequent flooding. The flower looks a little like a fritillary but the habitat doesn't fit. I'm in central New Jersey and the plant blooms in late April.
