    Hi;

I'm from Malaysia and I'm a newbie here. I'm looking for anyone that willing to sell me their sunshine blue blueberry seeds or plants (or sharpblue and misty). So far I can't find anyone that wlling to sell their plant outside US. Please let me know if anyone/growers willing to sell me the plants (or seeds).

    Thanks.

    Hello there and welcome Zul,

Apart from asking about seed for what you want in our seed forum have you looked at a lot of Malaysia sites?

Someone here may live near to you who will have what you want..maybe.

I just looked at the Malaysia Ebay but there was a lot of pages to look through and returned none for Blueberry.

I looked at quite a few sites at shipping but found none near you.

Thanks Katalina25. Yes I have searched in Malaysia ebay and a few Malaysia sites but theres no commercially or hobbyist buleberry grower here. Maybe they think that the temperature here is not suitable for the plant. Why don't give a try? Maybe a few types of blueberry plants such as sharpblue, misty or sunshine blue will also thrive here since they're heat tolerance.

However, again thanks for the suggestion. I hope I'll get more here.

I still think the best way forward for you to get anywhere with this is seed.

We can help once you have them. Problem is Zul, you can't just pick a plant from say the UK and post it out to Malaysia. Malaysia has her rules too on soil born infections. So reason why I say try to locate seed.

I too would love the plants Malaysia has but I can only drool over them.

What about Chiltern for the seed if its the variety?

Be good to try if only to see if they would survive in Malaysia don't you think?

Ask here Zul if anyone has any seed for what you require.

Thanks. I just found two suppliers who willing to ship their life plants to me. However the cost is quite high. The first supplier asked me to pay USD100 for certification inspection and another USD100 for shipping. While the other one asked me to pay USD35 for the inspection and USD for shipping. It's quite insteresting offer except the first one have sharpblue and misty only and the another have only sunshine blue. I wish to have all the three type of blueberry.

Actually I already bought seeds from two sellers in US. The first one from ebay, a mix of a few type highbush blueberry in a packet and the other one a few type rabbiteye blueberry seeds (no sharpblue, misty and sunshine blue). I have sowed them but none seems to be germinated. It's almost 1 1/2 months already. I use a few methods to sow them after stratification process with Gibrelic Acid (GA3); 1) I sowed them on spaghnum moss 2) I sowed them on wet cotton 3) I keep them soaked in the GA3 solution. Now I'm going to try another way, cold stratification in fridge. Hopefully it will germinate after 1 or 2 months.

If none of the seeds germinate, I'll proceed with the buying costly life plants.... : )

Oh thats wonderful Zul, please let me know how that goes.

I would love to see the germinated seedling.

Your like me, I too buy off Ebay, never as much as I do now. I buy seed as well as plants for our seed swapping.

Spring 2010 is going to be hectic with all the seeds being swapped lolol
