Hi everyone. I am getting ready to take shipment of some 7 foot plam trees in a couple of weeks. I would like to put these into some nice size containers. I was wondering if there is anywhere online to buy these. The local nursery wants an arm and a leg. What size pot/container do I need? It is a 7 foot windmill palm.
if the nursery wants an arm and a leg for something then expect an online source to want an arm and a leg plus shipping ;-)
A container can simply be a container to hold a plant, BUT a container can also be an asset to the ambiance and mood of the site. If you want huge pottery containers, yes, you will pay….. but the end result will be worth it. You could check out North West Landscape in Vancouver. They have enormously big pots, with a price tag to match. But, if history repeats itself, in May, they have their pots on half price.
Denise, good thoughts but the question asker is in Michigan, not likely to be able to visit Northwest Landscape supply in Burnaby in the near future. I tried to search out Capital Woodwork, a company in Langley BC that makes lots of wood pots etc but they dont seem to have a website.
Whoops. After looking at hundreds of entries yesterday, I thought the author was local -I guess I mixed him up with another person. I do have another thought however. High schools often need projects for the students taking carpentry. Recently in our locale, a high school has offered garden sheds for sale. It might be an idea to contact a few of the high schools nearby and ask if any students are interested in making some wooden containers. The students would gain the marks, and the gardener would receive the containers at a reduced price. The cost is usually on a materials cost only basis. It may be too late for this school year, but it's a thought for the future.
