I've come across this shrub that I can't identify in the woods that I walk everyday. I don't have pictures of the flowers, but I do have pics of the distinctive berries. The pods are 5 parted (each with 5 berries), the leaves are opposite and entire, the twigs and the rest of the shrub's brances are very greenish. It is growing in bottom land near a small stream. I'm located in central New Jersey. There are many honeysuckle shrubs around but this doesn't seem to be one of those.

    Thanks
    Frederico

    Frederico - Wow!
Never saw anything like that before, except foe the outer "prickly skin." That part looks like the fruit peel of the litchi (Sapindaceae). But I didn't think they'd grow in NJ!

Ditto to Euonymus americanus. Note: poisonous.
