Hello Christen, Here is a link to the copyright page for that photo (and most other BPotD images): http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/2.0/ca/ So, yes you are free to use that image. It should be large enough for a Power Point slide. I do not have the original file on my work computer, but could send/post a larger file, if needed. Any of my images that appear anywhere on the UBC Botanical Garden website can be used for non-profit purposes. I would like photos taken by me to be attributed with a small caption (along side edge is fine) with either my name, UBC Botanical Garden or both.
