    Hello,

I have planted tulip and freesia bulbs, in mid- november
the freesia emerged almost a month after planting.. or so
and the tulips have emerged a week ago..
but I haven't applied any fertilizers when planting..

I am asking now, when should I feed these plants?
    and what fertilizer?

Also.. I am asking if it is possible to move these plants at this stage?
I know I have read that it's better to move the bulbs when they are dormant

but just asking if it is possible now when they are growing?
because I wanted to change their position in the garden

    thanks in advance

    Hi Ethylene,

I see you are in Lebanon. Are you in the country of Lebanon or is there a Lebanon in Canada? I'm asking because I don't know what the weather would be where you are.

    Hi Ethylene,

First I'd like to say that I am sorry to hear of your country's loss of your former Prime Minister.

I asked where you are because I wanted to find out what the weather is where you are located so I could advise you what to do with your bulbs. There are several cities in the US with the name Lebanon. Since it is getting warm, and it appears that you won't be having freezing weather, go ahead and move your bulbs now. You can fertilize by either adding compost to the new planting bed or use a bulb fertilizer. Do mix in well with the soil if you are using a bulb fertilizer or bulb food so you don't burn the roots. Dig carefully for your tulips as the roots should be a few inches long and you don't want to break them. After they bloom don't remove the leaves until they turn yellow since they will be feeding the bulbs for next years bloom.

    Regards,
    Newt
