I live in Victoria. I am looking for a source of either a plant or cuttings of Lonicera fragrantissima. I used to have this in my garden in Delta but had to leave it when I moved. It is a very important plant for me (sentimental). Any advice as to where I can obtain either a plant or cuttings would be appreciated. I believe that the Finnerty Gardens at University of Victoria has this shrub, but I don't want to try to steal cuttings from there.
Keep an eye out for a plant sale at UVic as this plant has been available in the past for that event. Failing that, you could always ask for permission to take some cuttings. Also check with Fraser's Thimble Farms: http://www.thimblefarms.com/shrubs.html
Thanks for the quick response. I have tried Thimble Farms and thought about asking about taking cuttings from U.Vic, but can't locate a contact phone number there. I will look out for a plant sale.
Here's an idea. Perhaps you could arrange with the new owners of your house in Delta to have cuttings taken and shipped to you. They may be more amenable if you offer to pay expenses or if shipping is left in the care of a friend amongst your previous neighbours.
