A semi closeup of the failure point of a london plane tree at my parnets place in Surrey BC. Failed during a windstorm last week gusts to 60 km according to the news people. This is the branch the ended up on the ground next to the tree. I removed the tree the following weekend as it was unsightly and potentially hazardous. The diameter of the trunk at 1 foot height was just under 25 cm. took about two hours to knock down and snip all the bits in to bundles for the green waste pickup team.
