Locally grown native plants for new developments (or replacements)

    I saw this recently in Canadian Geographic magazine

    It seems there are often questions about privacy hedges and trees in these forums —- and most of us know how deer love those ubiquitous cedar hedges here as @Margot posted recently

    (plus they are thirsty and a potential hot weather fire hazard)

    i wonder how our coast will adapt

    that said —- I am guilty of planting cedar hedges and some sort of Norway Maple — over a decade ago (hoping to justify my choices from way back to when !)
