TU Delft researcher Bob Hendrikx has created Living Cocoon, a coffin made from mycelium that helps bodies decompose faster while improving the surrounding soil.

A very interesting concept that tbh we don't like to think about or talk about. If this helps the environment and is put across that we really don't need to spend thousands of pounds/ dollars to say goodbye to a loved one, then it gets my vote and hopefully others as well .
Some of the comments about the article were quite eye opening about attitudes to this subject.
