Hello. I have a 5.5 Little Gem Magnolia tree planted in full sun. It bloomed well this spring and looked very healthy. About 2 months ago, the leaves & seed pods started turning brown; all foliage is now completely brown. The smaller branches are brittle, but the larger ones still seem to have some elasticity. Have I killed my poor tree or is there hope?

Sounds pretty bad. Need to figure out what happened and take immediate corrective action to have any chance of bringing it back. Salt injury? Lack of water? Too much water?

It does sound bad. I can't help much except to say we have a 'Little Gem' growing in full sun. It's now about 20 ft tall; has bloomed every year after the first; is 30 years old; receives only rain; has never been fertilized.

If you're watering and fertilizing, it coud be part of the problem.
