Hi, hoping for some advice. We have a little gem magnolia that was planted back in 1994. It was a beautiful tree, no problems. We had some pruning done to some other trees in our yard and the magnolia was accidentally pruned and INCORRECTLY pruned. They pruned from the bottom up, leaving just a "pom-pom" effect--just a roundness to the top of the tree with the bottom half completely gone. Is there anything that can be to encourage the proper growth back. It looks awful and I hope it didn't cause permanent damage to the tree. Thanks so much.

Trunk will likely sprout back out.
