I have houseplants all different kinds. and they all have the same kind of insects. These insects are not killing my houseplants but they are just everywhere. They look like fruit flies. little black tiny bugs with wings. I have bought many kinds of insect repelents from the stores and nothing gets rid of them. This is annoying me so much I am ready to give my plants away and give up my love for plants.

Sounds like fungus gnats, if you let the pots dry out a bit between each time you water they should go away. Gnatol is another possibility.
