    Hi,

I've grown 4 lithops from seed.

Recently the leaf on one of them seemed to burn away over a couple of days, but the stem has stayed.

I think it may be from the wrong light and water...

    Has anyone come across this?

    Thanks

Yes, it has happened to mine when the leaves have been hit by direct sunlight from the side.

    Ah, thanks.

Will the stems eventually die, then, or did yours sprout new leaves?

    Ok, thanks :)
I will try to give mine a bit less sun.

But, should I go with less direct sun as opposed to only indirect light?

For me it has been more about direction than intensity. They need strong light to grow well, otherwise they grow tall and the sides are exposed, and that happens easily where I live. The upper surface of Lithops leaves are quite light resistant, but not the sides. I am careful not to expose elongated stems to morning/evening sun without some protection. How old/big are they? They are more sensitive when small.

Ok, that makes sense. Mine are fairly and they are quite elongated.

Maybe I'll try to give them light more from above.
