Although I hesitate to ask since my cold acreage is covered with wild flowers from June to August in the Interior of B.C., I miss the tiger lilies and irises. Any ideas how I can get them here? I am also looking for free perennials. Ele

Bearded irises were developed from species native to generally similar conditions in Asia. Lilium lancifolium (L. tigrinum) is also quite hardy and would probably grow there. Check gardening references. A good book for you could be Searles, THE GARDEN OF JOY. If no longer being printed can still be found used, for instance I recently encountered a copy at the local Half Price Books.
