I have 6 lilac bushes growing in my backyard in West Kelowna that are about 5 years old and about 6 feet in height. I have other healthy mature lilac bushes in the yard. This year, 2 of the 6 newer bushes are showing leaves curling inward/upward and becoming thick and rubbery in feel. The mature lilacs are unaffected. Any thoughts?
Thx for this. I think it's pretty much done for this year but I will try a fungicide anyway, especially next spring...cheers...steve
I have a similar problem with a mature lilac in Penticton. The leaves are curling under but still appear healthy and green. It started on a few branches and is spreading. I wonder if it's the lack of rain. I do water, but I imagine there's quite an extensive root system. I hope it recovers anyway.
