Thanks Lynne.
Hi Lynne, Are the tips of the branches turning brown as well on your lilac? Take a look here. http://plantclinic.cornell.edu/FactSheets/LilacBactBlight/lilacbactblight.htm http://www.extension.umn.edu/projects/yardandgarden/ygbriefs/p-lilac-bacterialblight.html http://www.extension.umn.edu/projects/yardandgarden/ygbriefs/p458lilac-bacterialblight.html If it has been very hot where you live, the leaves of your dogwood could be curling due to the heat. You may need to water the tree. From this site: http://www.hcs.ohio-state.edu/hcs/TMI/Plantlist/co_orida.html "...by late Summer the leaves have often curled and slightly scorched at the margins due to the Summer heat, and reveal the silvery undersides of the leaves without the aid of a breeze..." Check to see that it is properly mulched. http://www.treesaregood.com/treecare/mulching.asp http://www.watersaver.org/pdfs/fall_watering_trees.pdf Newt
