This plant was bought at a yard sale the person that was there at the time was not sure what it was I am hoping someone can tell me what it is so I can properly care for it.

    Thanks,

Hoya carnosa. There is a wealth of information here on it - try a forum search using the latin name.

Thank you so much I thought it was a rubber plant or something and would have raised it all wrong I am so glad I decided to join the forum and ask.I believe you have saved this plants existence for I can now properly care and maintain it now that I know what it is.

    Best Regards,
    Thanks

How interesting. I didn't know hoya is a caudiciform. This is the first time I've seen a caudex on one.

Not sure what you mean I looked up caudex and I am guessing you think the white thing at the bottom is part of the plant it is actually a sea shell.Turned upside down I am guessing she had it there to help keep moisture in the plant longer or maybe it helps in other ways I don't know for sure.

Probably just decorative. Personally, I'd remove it.

So the plant is growing through a hole in the shell. That explains it. Thanks.

Yeah I guess in the picture it look like it is going through it but it is only beside it.I bought it that way and thought since it had grown well this long with it there that I would just leave it there and see how it goes but yes it is just a sea shell, sorry if it confused you.
