Since I've had some terrible experiences with invasive plants, I am hesitant to plant some ligularias that I purchased at a home plant sale. I don't know the specific type of ligularia, but have heard that they can be invasive with underground rhizomes. Any thoughts on this? I don't want to make another big mistake. Thanks for any comments and/or cautions! Marian Weiss

I've never experienced an invasive ligularia species (or hybrid), nor have I ever heard or read of one.
There has been reorganization between the genus Ligularia and the genus Senecio; some species which were once called Ligularia are now Senecio, and I suspect, if there is any truth to related plants being invasive, I suspect it's among those now classed as Senecio. (Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong on this!)

Maybe they've recently evolved stolons in an attempt to escape slugs.
