Trying to identify a vine from BC. Paisley shaped green leaves in 3s. Leaves are about 3" long. Grows vigourously once established (can cover an entire house). Produces lilac-blue bell flowers made up of 3 semi-joined petals. Flowers are about 1" long. Leaves turn ;ight brown very quickly if out of direct sunlight.
Not that many vines are capable of covering a house in BC. I would guess it was some type of clematis.

If so, your description at top makes no sense. And what blue-flowered Thunbergia species will cover a house in B.C.?
Yes it is highly unlikely to be a Thunbergia. Thunbergias are not hardy here and even though quite vigorous if grown as an annual, they wouldn't be covering a house.
I wondered about that too. But the description fit so well I had to suggest it. BTW T. grandiflora is fully hardy here in Zone 8 While BC is colder I suppose, is it out of the question?
I only have a plant in a pot indoors in Toronto which has covered a large window. My friend who I got it from says he got it from a huge plant in Vancouver which was basically growing right over the house (it may have been multiple plants). My mother had one in Jamaica which totally covered her car port. Anyway, the plant that I have (now that I have looked up the name) is definitely Thombergia. Thanks for all your comments and your help identifying him.
