It doesn't seem that many years - or decades - ago that many took comfort from the counsel given in the poem "Desiderata" (by Max Ehrmann 1927). Max Ehrmann's "Desiderata" Now, however, the thought that 'the universe is unfolding as it should' seems naïve at best. Certainly our precious Earth is not.
