Hi, the lemon tree I have posted a photo of has lemons growing on it, however, the lemons haven't turned yellow and they've been growing since the summer (they get slightly larger every month, but never yellow). Should I just remove the lemons and let the tree focus on new lemon growth, or does it take that long for them to ripen?
    cheers:)

They take months and month to ripen on the tree. I'm not positive exactly how long to leave them, but when you get a tinge of yellow on them might be the best time. Wait for an expert to chime in.

Lemons can stay on the tree for over a year, and continue to bloom while grown in their natural state (out of doors)... if it is a Meyer lemon, they should ripen nicely within a few months. Looking good so far!

A number of my Ponderosa lemons are still developing and they were formed some time last spring. Just let nature take its course. As an aside, it looks as though there is an infestation of scale on your tree.

Thanks everyone. I am so impatient to eat the first lemon off this tree, heehee. My trees get scale every year around this time. I just wipe it off one-leaf-by-one-leaf, I find it kind of nice to spend that much time with each tree, it's like brushing their hair or something, but if anyone has another solution, maybe there's something better I can do for them, I'd be happy to hear it!
    cheers,

Repeated applications of insecticidal soap, as directed on the label, works against scale.

I am with you Erica777, just wipe off with alcohol swabs ... but also, a semi annual bath in a safers style solution is also worth the effort.

I'll get on it this week--the whole greenhouse needs a good sweep and "bath".
