    Hi,

I am looking for hints at identifying this plant. I found it in a ditch on eastern Long Island, in N.Y. Does not appear to be native and may be invasive. Someone thought it may be a relative of the Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum).

Thanks Chris. Looks like Polygonum persicaria is the closest fit. Pretty far from its normal Hawaiian habitat.
