My camper down elm that is at least 30 - 55 years old is leaning about 45 degrees. It looks like it's propped up by an adjacent mature camellia. Should I try staking ? Or propping with a post? Thanks for your ideas.

The problem lies in the roots being unable to give your tree sufficient support. Staking or propping up with a post alone would be a rather short term solution.
Frequent shallow watering and/or surface fertilizing are two possible causes of the weak root system.
