Leaf, possibly from the Middle East

    This tree leaf may be from anywhere, but is more likely from Palestine or the Middle East. Someone suggested that it may be a Sassafras, but the margins don't look right.

    the fruit should be the clue to the plant's identity

    this is an edible fig Ficus carica but I am not sure of the cultivar

    Brian, do you have the technical information on how that image was made (i.e., camera, lighting)? I like the tonal qualities of it - particularly the gold sheen in the leaves.
