    so cal. summer is here in full bloom, and i have burn spots on my lawn. how do i stop this and how do i repair it?

    First you must diagnose the problem. What is causing it? Grubs, fungus, too much/too little water, animal urine, chemical spills?
    Give us a photo if you can.

    You need to water more, or plant an appropriate grass for your climate. For example Kentucky bluegrass would not work well in california as it likes a cooler wetter climate.
