Here's another no pic ID. What is the name of the moss growing in our lawns in PNW now. My Daughter raked a bunch of it out of our lawn yesterday, and I'm seeing it come into the MG Clinic here in Anacortes. I know how to get rid of it. I would just like a name for it. I thought Sphagnum, but the on-line pics look bigger. This stuff looks like tiny, ratty pipe cleaners.

I pulled a bag of moss out of the garage that was packaged by an outfit in LaConner, (of course they are no longer in business), for use in lining wire hanging baskets. It's the same thing. They claim it's from the mountains of the PNW, but I suspect it's from lawns of the PNW. Any ideas? barb

Thank you Daniel, That looks like it. John Christiansen of Christiansen's Nursery in Mt Vernon will be in tomorrow. He's supposed to be pretty good with the local mosses. I'm going to take a bunch in for him to look at tomorrow on my way to the Burlington MG Clinic. I'll let you know what he says. barb
