Stayed at home because too windy in Richmond today. Kill my trigger finger itch by shooting yard flowers. Know this is lavender, but just don't know what species. Kindly take a look and enlighten please.
Not sure if it is Lavandula Stoechas (aka French Lavender or Spanish Lavender. Await for the 'Green Thumbs' to confirm:)!
David, I was looking at the color of the "ears" in your pics again. Given the characteristic color of the "ears" sprouting from each flower head in your pics, I think it is another variety (and not Regal Splendour). I am guessing the species is still "stoechas". The Lavandula stoechas seems to be recognizable by their sterile bracts, resembling ears, situated on top of the short inflorescence.
Saw your pics again on my phone which showed a different color for the ears (a plum-like color). Variety may possibly be Lavandula stoechas 'Anouk' (Lavender) - also called French Lavender, Spanish Lavender, Bract Lavender or Butterfly Lavender.
