    Hello,

I would like to plant a lavender bush at my Nana's resting place. The family is being slow about it and I'm wondering if we still have time. (I know nothing about plants).

I wanted to buy one from the nursery. My Uncle said there's a certain species that blooms in late Aug. This would be nice as my Nana's birthday is Aug. 29. Do you know which species that is? Do I still have time to plant it? What window of time would be best since I have to plan a trip to Powell River to do it myself.

    Thanks,

    Cheryl

Yeah, now's one of the best times to buy plants at nurseries as they're trying to unload as many plants as possible, so you can find good deals right now. Your best bet is to plant Lavandula angustifolia, or English Lavender, as it's the hardiest. It is blooming right now and will possibly into August, but if you shear down the faded blooms you're might get more. Make sure it's in full sun and is in well-drained soil.
