Stem is woody and dark red. Height of plant approx. 1m 60cm. Diameter of flower 25mm-30mm. The inflorescence is very similar to Lavatera olbia but the plant is definitely not an Olbia. Perhaps it is Malva punctata? Help needed!

Hi Tyrlych, I would agree that the corolla is exactly like those of the genus Lavatera, but the multiple branched from of the plant with single blossoms as opposed to Lavatera or Alcea left me guessing. The red stem was another contributing factor to increase my doubts.

Did you rule out Althaea cannabina?

Hi Andrey, Thanks for visiting. After you suggested cannabina I checked it out but it definitely isn't cannabina. I sent the photographs to my friend at the Univ.Camerino botanical gardens. As soon as I get a Reply I will let you know.
    Best wishes,
