Steveston - Garry Point Park, 2 Rowan-like orange "berry" bearing trees amid the ornamental cherries; green deciduous slightly serrated foliage thru end Nov, leaves dropped 1st week Dec after "rusting". Larger fruit bearing crabapples & hawthornes in the vicinity.
Not a crab apple. Crataegus sp ..the fruits are called Haws. Maybe Crataegus persimilis prunifolia. http://majestictrees.co.uk/images/t...95-crataegus-persimilis-prunifolia-mainim.jpg
Online descriptions of Crataegus persimilis prunifolia certainly match what I see, notably the flash of rather mediterranean-looking color before leaves drop. Many thanks! /diatom
