Please help me ID this plant for my neighbor. She has lived in her home in Central VA since 1953, and this shrub was here when she moved in. It is not an evergreen, but leafs out around March/April and blooms every year around Mother's Day. You can smell the flowers from several houses away. The "shrub" is now about 12 ft tall and 6 ft wide. I have attached a picture. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
