Rain got into a storage area on my RV and out comes this. Never encountered something like this. Wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction, and is it harmfull and how to get rid of it! Thanks.

Yes, pretty dramatic. It will be growing in something and digesting it. Probably been there awhile, to have gotten to the stage of producing a large fruiting body.

I havn't heard of wood-decomposers like the one in your pic being particularly harmful. I guess i would scrape it off, throw it away, spray a fungicide on the wood (~$5 a bottle at Lowes or home depot). This should prevent it from growing back if the fungicide gets into the wood enough. Lastly, try to prevent your pets or children from coming into contact with the fungicide until it dries.

Let us know what you try & how it works so we can assist other people with your problem.
