I joined this site specifically because I was looking for answers to a PROBLEM THAT HAS ALSO DEVELOPED ON MY LAPIN CHERRY...

Yeah -- looks like we've got a problem with this variety here gang. When I see a specific thread devoted to the same variety -- with people reporting the same problems -- it means I'm starting to feel "Buyer's Remorse."

This is the third year for my full-size Lapin Cherry tree. I was expecting a big year. Then large bunches of blossoms began to die off -- my underdeveloped fruit has turned a shade of sickly red -- and I expect the next thing I'll see is this fruit hitting the ground.

I'm friends with a couple of Horticulturalists and a Master Gardener. I sent them photos through Facebook. They are all telling me that this is Brown Rot -- which means I'd better start spraying.

However -- it also seems this variety is somewhat susceptible to this problem.

Given that it's now 2010 -- and most of the posts in here are from 2009 -- I am somewhat curious of the steps that other Lapin owners took last year -- and how the reaction has been this year.
