Lake Houston - floaters

Found these 'seemingly' two disparate floating plants.
Any ideas, clues, or intrigue?

 

Both pretty, but outside their natural range they're two of the worst aquatic weeds: water hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes) and water lettuce (Pistia stratiotes).

 

Thanks hortip. They are quite pervasive here and that leads me to research what controls are in place to keep such invasive plants in check.
