I moved much of my garden last year and had many plants and trees that were simply too large to transplant. One of them was Okushimo, which had become a pretty decent sized tree. I wanted to replace it at the new garden with a similar cultivar and chose Kurui Jishi on the basis of similar leaf form and the fact that it was reputed to be a dwarf form. It has grown almost a meter in a year! Does that sound like a mislabelled tree or just transplant vigour in new (to the plant) soil? FWIW I also have a Chishio that I had pruned into a nice globe shape put out 18" spikes and a replacement Okushimo I later found and planted this Spring put on about 2 feet....
