I bought one a few weeks ago and it looks awful, the leaves are almost entirely yellow. I'm watering about every 2nd day, am I over doing it? It's really hot here right now, in the 30's. Should I give it a drink of iron to try and green it up?

You could be drowning the plant.

Our 'Klein's Hardy' is 20 years old, has never been watered or fertilized, blooms
mightily every spring and again in mid-summer. It's growing in heavy clay at that.

It doesn't rain buckets in summer over here like it does there. But every two days was probably too much, poking around in the soil to see how wet it was was the next step.
