    Hi all,

I have a Kiwi vine...I think. It was here when we moved in. I think there was a stump of another vine beside it, but it is gone now. It grows a HUGE large overhanging vine, but no fruit or flowers. I am only interested in getting flowers. How do I identify whether I have a male or female plant - and does it need both to flower? Maybe mine is not a Kiwi vine? I just think it is because I found a Kiwi vine marker in the ground by it.

    Thanks for you help

The only way to tell a female kiwi from a male kiwi vine is by the flowers, when they bloom. If you are not getting any flowers (bloom in late May here in the Northwest), and the vine is huge, it may not be a kiwi, or it may not be in enough light. Post some pictures of the foliage; that may help verify that it is a kiwi.

Thanks, I will try to post pictures. I actually have taken the vine to a couple garden centers, but none of them were really sure as well.
