Kiwi roots - rmoval?

We are having to remove 3 kiwi plants (they were growing against an old shed and led to the collapse of an old shed)

How much do we have to remove the root system to prevent regrowth?

 

Crowns will surely be able to sprout unless dug out or inactivated in some other way. Sprouting of root fragments I wouldn't expect.

I wouldn't expected it. Others my have different experience.
