I have been under the impression that kiwi should get full sun. I recently read an article authored by a guy who seemed to know his stuff. He indicated that by keeping the 'trunk' in shade produces more fruit.
I have asked this question somewhere, I had thought here, but I guess not. I cannot run down the article I read that stated this, but thought I'd make sure.
What amount of sun is appropriate? Should an attempt be made, I suppose on a very mature vine, to shade the trunk?

    Thanks, Y'all

Commercial kiwis are grown in full sun, but the trunks are naturally shaded by the top growth. I doubt that making an effort to specifically shade the trunk will make any difference. My own experience with kiwis is that pruning is critical to fruit production, and they should get as much sun as possible. I've seen kiwis grown in partial shade that did not priduce any flowers at all.
