As the title says, I just purchased a handful of some natives, including a few Saskatoon and Indian Plums. I have a few ideas of where to place the plums in the yard (partial shade), but I'm interested in input from the community on specific location, soil amendments, etc.

I have an area that gets considerable shade in the summer under a large maple, other parts of the yard are full summer sun. I'm leaning towards the 'summer shade' position, but am open to suggestions.

As far as the Saskatoons go, I suspect they'll be happy in full sun.

anyone else have any tips, thoughts on these two plants, locations, soil types, etc?

Indian Plum is an understory plant in the wild;so it should do well under the maple; and you're right about a sunny spot for the Saskatoons, especially if you want to harvest any fruit.
