We recently planted a Alberta peach tree, as of yet there are no leaves nor does it look like any are there. Our Cherry tree that we planted at the same time has a lot of new little leaves. The peach tree branches are dark purple looking on most of them and last week we noticed a clear oozing coming from different parts of the stem. Is there something wrong with this tree? we are growing pine trees and do not want anything affecting them.
Peach tree borer? I've lost several Apricots to this pest. Very unlikely that any pathogen or pest that affects Prunus (peach) would affect Pines. There could be crossover with your cherry though.
