Douglas Justice's July 2017 in the Garden | UBC Botanical Garden blog post turned out to be his intro for a full-blown maples extravaganza in his August blog. In July, he wrote mostly about two species: Acer davidii, with his own excellent photos, and Acer pentaphyllum. Here are two photos of the A. pentaphyllum. From 2008, it's the oldest one of this species in the garden.
