    Hi,

I managed to secure a Jujube tree a couple of years ago and it has been flowering each summer but no sign of fruit. How can I tell which variety I have? Is there anyone in the Greater Vancouver area with Jujube tree experience and knowledge?

Agree with Jim (Mr.Shep) - the fruit won't mature without a lot of summer heat, probably needs more than you get in Vancouver. They don't ripen in Britain, either.

    Re: Jujube Trees

    Hello Michael,

Thank you. We haven't had any sustained heat here this summer .... bursts of showers and then bursts of heat. Confusing for all the plants, fruit trees and alike. The Jujube is a beautiful addition in any event. How could I determine which type I have, ie "Li" or "Lang" or ... ?

    Cheers

I split the thread off a 2004 thread, which is the comment Michael is referencing.

As for determining jujube cultivars, here's a small guide to jujubes from the California Rare Fruit Growers. Unfortunately, without fruit, it is not going to be easy...
