It is with sadness that I am passing along the news that Joseph Lin (who was active for 12 years on the forums, particularly recently in the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival areas) passed away just over a week ago. Here is an article: Green Club of Vancouver founder and environmental educator Joseph Lin dies
The linked to account is yet another reminder that it is possible to spend much of one's time helping the community around them. That there is more one can do with their life than always putting themselves forward.
Thanks for that link, Daniel - nice to be able to see the video. In my first year of cherry scouting, I did a LOT of scouting, and it seemed everywhere I went, I ran into Joseph taking photos, in his spare time when he wasn't leading walks and writing his weekly newsletters and whatever else. Douglas Justice referred to him in a posting as the festival's "Energizer Bunny". Our first map was seeded with his file of cherry locations.
