Looking at my maples, I was curious to why some of mine have this sort of design, or color difference on the trunk. My younger ones all appear more green while my older ones seem to have this.
It is starting to 'bark up'. The white stuff is mature white bark. The green stuff is immature/young 'bark'. Normal.
