    Hello!
I wonder if anyone could offer a diagnosis or advice on my Samidare JM.
There are black spots on the trunk and many branches, especially around lenticels. Most of the leaves have looked excellent all summer (see last two photos) and into early autumn, but some are beginning to show odd red spots.
I am in Minneapolis, 5A. The tree gets full sun in summer but gets blocked by a house to the south during the winter. Soil is fairly heavy here. I have been restrained with watering but we did have a wet spring.

I wanted to include a full view shot but it was too big so here’s a cropped version:

I don't see anything to be particularly worried about. Leaves often look beat up at this time of year and spots might just be a reaction to minor damage from sap sucking insects. The dark portions on the bark don't look like the problematic type of dark patches. Obviously you should monitor the plant to make sure it doesn't take a turn for the worse, but I don't see a need for any intervention at this point.
