The following inquiry was received via e-mail on August 17, 2005:

I'm an illustrator looking for a good reference of the jeevani plant - I think it's Trichopus zeylanicus. There's very little on the internet. Do you possibly have a picture I could use?

The plant that you are inquiring about is not well known here. The leaves of a Trichopus zeylanicus are used in herbal medicines to relieve anti-fatique and anti-stress. Currently, it is mainly sold in India and the U.S. We were unable to find any good photos of this plant, but found one on Google: http://www.holistic-online.com/Herbal-Med/_Herbs/h_trichopus-zeylanicus.htm

You might also want to check out the Botanical Garden Conservation International website (www.bgci.org.uk) and search for botanical gardens in India that may be able to assist you further.

    All the best of luck!
