I recently bought a Jasmine Bush.It has two different stems. One bears single flowers, the other one has what looks like double blossoms. The plants are young. They smell like jasmine. Are they male and female flowers perhaps? They both loose their flowers at the slightest breeze and the leaves are mottled dark and light green. They get lots of water and plenty of sunshine .They are on a balcony facing south. How should they be fertilized?Sorry, I am not equipped for sending photos. They are white by the way.Can anyone help whith those problems? It sounds like your plant is Jasminum sambac, Arabian Jasmine. The cultivar 'Maid of Orleans' has single flowers and is the one most commonly found in stores. I've only ever seen one type of flower on these plants and so assume they are bisexual with both male and female parts. The one that I have is also in a south facing balcony. It seems happy being fed with a 20-20-20 fertilizer containing micronutrients. Have a look here for more information on Arabian Jasmine. You can compare the flowers on your plant with the ones in the photos. You're lucky if you ended up with two different varieties of this plant in your container.
